South Africa Bound

31 05 2008

One-Hundred million abused and abandoned Children orphaned by AIDS as well as those trapped in the cycles of misery and poverty live desperate lives trying to survive on the streets of virtually every city in South Africa. They are alone, hungry and without hope. Please remember me in your prayers as i prepare and Travel to South Africa to be a channel of hope to those who are without it.

We leave in five days. There are many emotions running through me right now as i am packing and preparing for this trip. God is So good and So faithful and even though i am a bit anxious i have this incredible sense of Peace throughout me. Please Pray not only for me and my team but for my family. Especially my mom! you know how mom’s are. My friends and family have been nothing but encouraging Thank you so much for all your support. However as close family does they worry….Please pray for peace and calming for them as i leave and am in south Africa. Also Pray for our Travel that it is smooth and the transition from the connecting flights goes well. Please pray for our health and mostly importantly please pray that we allow God to use us fully and completely and that when we need to accomplish is able to get accomplished in the small amount of time we are there. I will be sure to keep you all updated as much as possible by writing on here while i am over there as well as lots of pictures! Thank you again to you all for your support and prayers.

With Love,

Amy

Dad, Deb & Ty (and Grandma :-)

Hi Amy Girl!

Wow, oh wow have the family been asking about you! Grandma is talking about you all the time to your dad. She’s concerned about you. So is Aunt Kelly. Your dad let her know that there’s no better place to be than in the center of God’s will. Amen. We pray you are enjoying the PEACE of that truth. Will be praying for “patience” with one another for your team and the time spent with others on your trip. “Love is patient, and LOVE is kind,” right? “And the fruit of the Sprit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self-control, and gentlesness…”

Really looking forward to hearing how things are going, how you are doing. We’re continually talking about where you are right now and what time it is where you are. Your dad doesn’t think you got any sleep on the plane. I sure hope you did. Sounds like you had a great opportunity for that.

So, it looks like tomorrow is the trip to the wildlife park. It’s about 6:00 am your time and we’re thinking bed sounds really dyno right now. Ty’s listening to some music on the computer right now as he talks with a bud… He unplugged his headset so I could listen.

Hey, God speed. Blessings upon you, Dear One.

Dad, Deb & Ty

P.S. Ty says, “Tell her hi and I’m proud of her.” Dad says, “Hi, Punkin, Love, Daddy.”
